Barcelona is full of museums and exhibitions, but the White Rabbit offers a very special experience. This place is not a classic museum: here lights, sounds, installations and interactive games introduce the diverse world of Catalan culture to the visitor. A kind of “experience universe” where traditions meet modern technology.

White Rabbit is a surreal journey into the subconscious, but also a cultural mirror that can simultaneously reflect Catalan identity, traditions and modern reality – sometimes playfully, sometimes with a critical edge, but always in a unique way. This is a place where a VR disco, the majestic buildings of Catalan modernism, a philosophical mirror maze and a pooping shepherd all find their place, and I think we can all agree that this could not happen anywhere else but in Barcelona.

Festa Major de Gràcia Hall – the atmosphere of the district festivals

One of the first stops on your visit is the Festa Major de Gràcia hall, representing the famous festival that dazzles the city with its decorated streets every year. At White Rabbit, the festive atmosphere is brought to life through installations, allowing visitors to feel as if they are part of one of the most colorful Catalan festivals of the summer.

Giant heads and folk figures

Giant heads (capgrossos) are an essential part of Catalan street festivals, and they are cheerful, sometimes slightly scary, figures that parade through the festivals. At White Rabbit, you can admire these huge installations up close and even learn the stories behind them.

Caganer room – the world of Catalan humor

One of the strangest but most beloved figures of the Christmas season is the caganer, the little figure hidden in every nativity scene. The museum has dedicated a special room to him, where visitors can discover the humorous and cultural meaning of this tradition.

The little figure known from traditional Catalan nativity scenes – who crouched down somewhere in the background doing his business – has been placed here in a separate, semi-dark installation space. But of course, not in the usual form. The White Rabbit Caganer is a huge statue, and next to it there are small caganers dressed in different eras and occupations: there is a modern influencer, a politician, a businessman, and even a teenager using a mobile phone, all in the same pose. The installation is humorous, but also thought-provoking – it pokes fun at public figures while evoking Catalan self-irony and the cultural peculiarity that religious and slightly scandalous things can easily coexist. A sign on the wall sums up the message: “Tots caguem igual.” – translate it from Catalan if you want. :)

Virtual DJ – the world of Razzmatazz

The museum also evokes Barcelona's famous nightlife: visitors can try the Razzmatazz DJ game, where they can mix music behind a virtual counter and be part of the atmosphere of the legendary club.

Egg Fontaine – a special installation

One of the museum's most surprising attractions is the Egg Fontaine, a creative fountain installation that combines modern art with traditional Catalan symbolism.

Immersive light show about modernism

Catalan Modernism – Gaudí, Domènech i Montaner and others – defined Barcelona’s cityscape. The museum’s immersive light show allows visitors to explore this artistic era through a captivating light and sound experience.

VR Experience – traditions in a new dimension

White Rabbit also uses the latest technology: during a VR experience, visitors can virtually participate in Catalan traditions - as if they were standing in the middle of a festival. For example, one of the most spectacular elements of Catalan culture, the human towers (castellers), is also featured here: we can learn about the history of this community tradition, which was recently added to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list, in an interactive way.

Why is it worth visiting the White Rabbit?

This museum is the ideal choice for anyone who wants to discover Barcelona's cultural heritage in a playful way. It is a great experience not only for tourists but also for locals, as it presents Catalan traditions from a new perspective: with humor, interactivity and modern technology.

If you're traveling to Barcelona, White Rabbit is a real secret tip – a place you're guaranteed to leave with a smile and new experiences.
